SBI Donates Rs.29 Lakh to Command Hospital Chandimandir for Cancer Care

State Bank of India (SBI) has contributed ₹29,00,362 to the Command Hospital in Chandimandir for strengthening healthcare services at its Oncology Day Care Centre. This donation aims to enhance medical facilities for armed forces personnel and their families.

SBI’s Support for Military Healthcare

The cheque was formally handed over during a special event attended by senior officials from both SBI and the Indian Army. Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, interacted with Krishan Sharma, Chief General Manager (CGM), SBI Chandigarh Circle, and Major General Arvind Kapoor, Circle Defence Banking Advisor, Chandimandir, to discuss the bank’s contribution towards healthcare initiatives.

Following the interaction, CGM Krishan Sharma presented the cheque to Lt Gen Matheu Jacob, Commandant of Command Hospital Chandimandir Cantt. Several dignitaries from SBI and the armed forces were also present at the event, including Sujit Kumar, General Manager, LHO Chandigarh; Teekam Singh Gehlot, DGM (B&O), Administrative Office Panchkula; Rishi Kumar, Regional Manager, RBO Panchkula; and Avneet Kaur, Chief Manager, SBI Chandimandir Branch.

Strengthening Medical Infrastructure

The Oncology Day Care Centre at Command Hospital plays a crucial role in providing treatment to cancer patients, particularly serving military personnel and their dependents. SBI’s financial support will help improve the centre’s infrastructure and medical services, ensuring better healthcare facilities for the armed forces.

This initiative is part of SBI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, reinforcing its commitment to supporting healthcare and welfare programs for the armed forces.
