Robbery attempt at SBI Branch in Triplicane Chennai, Robbers entered Branch but Cash Safe
Chennai: On Thursday night, a man was arrested by the Triplicane police in connection with an attempted break-in and burglary at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Triplicane, Chennai. The suspect, whose identity remains unknown, was apprehended after being spotted loitering near Burma Bazaar on a platform. He did not have any identification cards on him, and residents of the area reported that they had never seen him before.
The break-in attempt was discovered early on Friday morning when bank employees arrived at work. Upon entering the branch, the employees found signs of a break-in but ensured that the cash and other valuables stored in the bank were untouched and secure. After confirming that there had been no theft, they immediately informed the police.
The Triplicane police quickly arrived at the scene and began inspecting the bank’s lockers and premises for any evidence. After conducting their preliminary investigation, they filed a case and started inquiring about the incident.
In a key development, the police were able to identify the suspect through the footage captured by the bank’s CCTV cameras. Using this footage, they located the man near Burma Bazaar and took him into custody. Although the suspect has yet to reveal his identity, the police are continuing to investigate the matter and gather more details about the man’s background and possible motive for the break-in attempt.
The Triplicane police are actively pursuing the case, and the suspect is currently being questioned in connection with the attempted burglary. The authorities are also examining any possible links the man may have to similar crimes in the area.
