Late on Wednesday night, a robbery attempt took place at the State Bank of India branch located in Dhani Sanchala village, in the Bhuna area of Fatehabad. The thieves targeted the bank with the intention of breaking in and looting it. They managed to break three locks on the main gate of the bank, which allowed them to gain some entry. However, they were not able to break the final lock that would have given them full access to the bank.

At around 1:30 a.m., the police received a tip-off regarding suspicious activity near the bank, and a Dial-112 patrol vehicle was immediately dispatched to the location. Upon reaching the bank, the police found a young man engaged in attempting to break the last lock on the main gate. As soon as he noticed the police, he panicked and fled the scene, running away into the surrounding area. Despite a brief chase by the police, the thief managed to escape by taking advantage of the dense fog that had settled in the area. The poor visibility caused by the fog made it difficult for the police to continue their pursuit, allowing the thief to evade capture.
During the robbery attempt, CCTV cameras installed around the bank captured footage of the young man running away from the scene. The police are now using this footage to try and identify the suspect, but so far, his identity remains unknown. The police have also placed the bank guard, who was present at the bank at the time of the incident, under surveillance. This is part of their ongoing investigation into the attempted robbery. The guard’s role and any potential involvement are being examined carefully as the investigation progresses.
After the police responded to the scene, they conducted a thorough search and began gathering information. The initial investigation revealed that the thieves had planned to break into the bank during the night, when the area was quieter and less likely to attract attention. The quick arrival of the Dial-112 team likely prevented a larger-scale crime from occurring.
The police are continuing to investigate the incident and are focusing on identifying the young man caught in the CCTV footage. They are also reviewing other nearby surveillance footage and gathering additional evidence from the scene. Despite the unsuccessful robbery attempt, the police believe that with the help of the footage and further investigation, they will be able to identify and apprehend the criminals involved.
