Robbery at Punjab & Sindh Bank in Khanna Punjab

In a shocking incident, a robbery took place at the Punjab & Sindh Bank in the Khanna area of Punjab. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, around 2:30 pm, in broad daylight. Three masked individuals arrived on a motorcycle and looted Rs 15 lakh from the bank. It is alleged that they resorted to air firing to intimidate people present at the scene.

Details of the Robbery

According to the information received, the three robbers, with their faces covered, entered the bank premises. Each of them was armed with a pistol. However, before they could proceed, the bank’s security guard requested them to uncover their faces. An argument ensued, during which the robbers snatched the guard’s gun and pointed it at his temple.

While one of the robbers kept the security guard at gunpoint, another approached the cashier. Pointing the pistol at the cashier’s temple, he demanded that all the cash be placed in a bag. The frightened cashier complied and handed over approximately Rs 15 lakh.

The Escape and Aftermath

As the robbers were making their escape with the bag of cash, the security guard managed to retrieve his gun and attempted to fire at them. Unfortunately, they had already fled the scene. Eyewitnesses reported that the robbery was accompanied by the sound of gunfire, which was likely intended to instill fear among the people present.

It is worth mentioning that the bank had recently reopened after a three-day holiday. As a result, there was a higher amount of cash available than usual. It appears that the robbers had conducted prior surveillance and were aware of this opportunity.
