In Jind, a private bank employee has gone missing after borrowing a substantial amount of Rs 14 lakh from a friend. The employee, identified as Saloni Goyal, has also left her job and vacated her rented accommodation, leaving her friend in financial distress. The incident has prompted the police to launch an investigation after a formal complaint was filed by the victim, Ajay Kumar.
According to Ajay Kumar’s complaint at the Civil Lines police station, he had maintained a long-standing banking relationship with Saloni Goyal, who managed his account at a private bank in Jind. Over the years, Saloni had been responsible for handling his financial transactions, including investments in life insurance policies and mutual funds. Ajay trusted her with his financial dealings due to their professional rapport.
On July 24, Saloni called Ajay, explaining that she was in urgent need of Rs 14 lakh and promised to return the money within ten days. Given his trust in her, Ajay agreed to help and withdrew the money from his account, which he then handed over to Saloni. She assured him that the repayment would be swift.
However, after receiving the money, Saloni abruptly resigned from her job at the bank and moved out of her rented house in Urban Estate, Jind. Ajay tried to reach her multiple times to recover the borrowed sum, but she began avoiding his calls and messages. He then confronted her directly, and on August 17, Saloni gave him a cheque for Rs 15.5 lakh as repayment, which included interest.
Ajay deposited the cheque, but to his dismay, it bounced, leaving him with no recourse. Realizing that Saloni had no intention of returning the money, Ajay approached the Civil Lines police station and lodged a formal complaint against her.
ASI Rajendra Singh, the investigating officer, confirmed that the police have initiated an investigation based on Ajay’s complaint. Saloni Goyal has been named in the case, and efforts are underway to locate her. The police are examining all possible leads, including her banking history and her recent whereabouts, to bring her to justice.
This case has raised concerns about financial fraud and the trust placed in bank employees. The police have urged anyone who may have information on Saloni’s current location or other individuals who may have been affected by her actions to come forward.
Ajay Kumar, who feels deeply betrayed, hopes that justice will be served and that he will recover his hard-earned money. The investigation is ongoing, and further developments are expected as the police continue to search for Saloni Goyal.
