In Lakhimpur Kheri’s Gola Gokarnath area, a businessman named Shivkumar Soni was accidentally injured when a security guard at Punjab National Bank (PNB) fired a shot while cleaning his gun. This incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. on Monday.
Details of the Incident
The bullet hit Soni, the owner of Upasana Jewelers, who was sitting about 20 meters away from the bank. He sustained an injury in the upper waist area and was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.
Complaint Filed
Following the incident, Soni filed a complaint against the guard, asking that his gun license be revoked, as the accident posed a serious risk to his life.
Bank Manager’s Statement
Bank manager Umesh Kumar explained that the shooting was not intentional but occurred by accident. He acknowledged the severity of the situation and promised appropriate action against the guard.
Police Action
The police have since registered a case against the security guard under section 125 (B) of the BNS and are conducting an investigation to understand the details of what happened due to the guard’s negligence.
