E-Pay Tax is a convenient service provided by the Income Tax Department of India, enabling taxpayers to conveniently pay their taxes online using various channels such as net banking, debit cards, over-the-counter payments, NEFT, and RTGS. This service is made available through a network of authorized banks, which can be easily located on the official website of the Income Tax Department.
To utilize the E-Pay Tax service, taxpayers are required to first create an account on the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal, accessible at https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/. Once the account is successfully created, taxpayers can generate a unique challan number for their tax payment. This challan number serves as a reference for making payments through any of the authorized channels mentioned earlier.
