About Nilachal Carbo Metalicks IPO
Nilachal Carbo Metalicks Limited, established in 2003, is a company that produces high-quality, low-sulfur metallurgical coke. Its product range includes nut coke, blast furnace coke, foundry coke, and low-phosphorus coke fines, which are widely used across different industries.
The company operates a modern facility in Chadheidhara, Jajpur, Odisha, equipped with three non-recovery, beehive-type coke oven batteries, with a production capacity of 60,000 metric tons per annum (MTPA). To expand its capacity, the company is setting up a new battery with 36 ovens at its Baramana, Jajpur plant, which will increase its LAM Coke production by 34,400 MTPA, taking the total to 94,400 MTPA, or 1,12,400 MTPA including leased capacity. As of July 5, 2025, the company employs 65 people.
Its product portfolio includes Low Ash Metallurgical (LAM) Coke in various grades. Foundry grade coke is used in foundries for melting metals like iron, ensuring steady heat and fewer impurities. Ferro Alloys grade LAM Coke, also known as nut coke, is important in ferro-alloy production because of its low ash, phosphorus, and reactivity, which improve furnace efficiency and alloy quality. Blast furnace grade coke is mainly used in iron production, offering high carbon content, low ash, and durability for stable furnace operations. The company also produces coke fines, which are high in carbon and low in phosphorus, and are used in iron ore pellets, sintering, and steel melting, particularly in nearby steel plants where demand is strong.
Nilachal Carbo Metalicks Limited has several competitive strengths, including strategically located manufacturing facilities, an experienced promoter and management team, proven excellence in producing high-quality LAM Coke, a strong and established customer base for by-products, its own fleet to ensure timely delivery, and flexible operations to meet specific customer requirements.
