The year-on-year inflation rate for October 2024, based on the All India Consumer Price Index (CPI), stands at 6.21%. The rural and urban inflation rates for the same period are 6.68% and 5.62%, respectively. The All India Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) shows a year-on-year inflation rate of 10.87% (provisional) for October 2024. The corresponding rural and urban rates are 10.69% and 11.09%.
Housing inflation for October 2024 is recorded at 2.81%, compared to 2.72% in September 2024. Note that the housing index is calculated only for the urban sector.
