Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh – Four individuals, including a former manager and supervisor, have been accused of misusing the names of farmers to embezzle funds at the Banwar Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society in the Antari area of Gwalior.
An investigation into the matter revealed that the accused siphoned off funds by exploiting the identities of five farmers. Shockingly, one of these farmers had passed away, yet withdrawals were made in his name. Additionally, the outstanding loans of four other farmers were concealed.
The case, which had been under investigation for the past seven months, was initiated following an order from the Additional Collector. Based on the findings of the inquiry, an FIR was registered against the following individuals:
- Balkrishna Choubey – Former Manager of the Banwar Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society
- Hiralal Sahu – Former Manager of the Antari branch of the Cooperative Bank
- Ganga Singh Thakur – Supervisor
- Bhagwati Prasad Parashar – Cashier
A special team investigated the financial irregularities and uncovered fraudulent activities that led to a total loss of approximately ₹4.5 lakh.
The accused have been charged with misappropriating funds and committing fraud. Legal proceedings are underway as authorities continue their investigation into this financial misconduct.
