An employee of the Bank of India posted at the Lakhimpur branch has gone missing under mysterious circumstances after leaving Lucknow. The man, Sunil Kumar Yadav, resides in Awas Vikas Colony, Rameshwarpuram, Lakhimpur, and works as a Class IV employee managing currency chest operations at the bank.
Disappearance Details
On Wednesday, Yadav traveled to the Bank of India’s currency chest in Gomtinagar, Lucknow, for some work at 7 a.m. After completing his tasks, he reportedly left Lucknow for home around 5 p.m. However, he never reached his destination.
Last Conversation with Wife
The last known contact with his wife, Premlata, occurred at 10:15 p.m. when Yadav called to inform her he was waiting for a bus after reaching Madiyaon by auto. He assured her he would be home soon but disconnected the call shortly after.
Mobile Phone Switched Off
Concern arose when Premlata attempted to call him again at 11 p.m., only to find his phone switched off. Unable to reach him, the family began searching and later reported the matter to the Madiyaon police station. Premlata suspects her husband may have fallen victim to a drug gang and has filed a complaint at Lakhimpur Kheri Kotwali Sadar, fearing he might have been poisoned.
Police Response
Madiyanv Inspector Shivanand Mishra confirmed awareness of the case but stated that no information regarding such an incident has surfaced near the police station. Authorities assured that appropriate action will be taken if any leads emerge.
The sudden disappearance of Sunil Kumar Yadav has left his family distraught, as concerns about his safety mount. Investigations are underway to locate the missing employee.
