Axis Bank Assistant Manager arrested in Azamgarh using accounts of Customers in Cyber Frauds

The cyber cell of Azamgarh district has arrested the assistant manager of Axis Bank for committing cyber crime worth lakhs of rupees every day. He was doing cyber fraud via online gaming. The assistant bank manager is accused of misleading less educated and innocent people by promising them the benefits of the Prime Minister’s scheme and giving them three thousand rupees in cash and opening accounts in their names.

Along with this, all the information of the account was made available to cyber criminals. Cyber criminals used to use such accounts for cyber fraud. The police was constantly receiving complaints in this matter. On the basis of this, a plan was made to arrest the accused.

District SSP Traffic Vivek Tripathi said that the accused Yogesh Tripathi alias Amit used to lure innocent people and get their accounts opened. He used them for cyber fraud. The police was constantly getting information in this matter. Under this, the accused has been arrested. ATM, cheque book, passbook has also been recovered from the accused.

The accused used to operate 30 to 35 accounts from one ID. The police is still trying to find out how many innocent people have been cheated so far.
