Assistant Manager of South Bihar Gramin Bank Commits Suicide in Nawada

A 36-year-old Assistant Manager of South Bihar Gramin Bank, Sugay Saha, was found dead by suicide at his rented home in the Jagdev Nagar area of Nawada on Monday morning. The incident occurred at around 6:30 AM. Sugay was living in Nawada with his wife, Rekha Devi, and their three-year-old son.

What Happened?

On Monday morning, Sugay locked his wife and child in one room before going to another room and locking the door from the inside. When his landlord realized something was wrong, they called the police through Dial 112. When the police arrived, they tried to open the locked door but couldn’t. Using a ladder to look through the ventilator, they found Sugay hanging from the ceiling fan using a plastic rope.

About Sugay Saha

Sugay originally belonged to Vivekananda Park Panihari in the Panshila area of West Bengal’s 24 Parganas district. He had been working as an Assistant Manager at South Bihar Gramin Bank for the last eight years. Sugay had been posted in Charpokhari Bazar, Charpokhari block, just three months ago.

Before this, he worked at the bank’s branch in Dularpur of Gadhani block. For the last four years, he had been living in the rented house at Chitragupta Sadan in Nawada with his family.

Police Investigation

The police are investigating the matter to understand what led Sugay to take this extreme step. They are examining his mobile phone records (Call Detail Record or CDR) and using other scientific methods to find clues.

Nawada police station in-charge, Vipin Bihari, confirmed the incident and said the family is also being questioned to uncover any personal or professional issues Sugay might have been facing. The possibility of foul play is also being considered.

This unfortunate event has shocked the local community and raised concerns about the mental health and well-being of professionals facing stress in their lives.
