Passengers aboard the Suhaildev Superfast Express train, traveling from Delhi’s Anand Vihar Terminal to Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, took action on Friday when two coaches suffered an abrupt power failure. According to reports from the news agency PTI, moments after the departure of train 22420, the Suhaildev Superfast Express, from Anand Vihar Terminal, the lights went out in coaches B1 and B2. In addition, the air conditioning systems ceased to function due to the power disruption.
Frustrated by the situation, the passengers expressed their dissatisfaction with the power outage on the train. They apprehended the Ticket Collector (TTE) and confined them in a restroom. Simultaneously, the Railway Police Force (RPF) in collaboration with officials assured the passengers that they were actively addressing the issue. The train was brought to a halt at Tundla station around 1 am and remained stationary for more than two hours. During this time, an engineering team investigated the cause of the power failure and successfully rectified the problem in the B1 coach. Consequently, power was restored in the B2 coach as well, allowing the train to resume its journey to its intended destination.
In a separate incident earlier this week, a passenger without a valid ticket was discovered smoking covertly within a restroom on the Tirupati–Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express. This unauthorized activity triggered a false fire alarm, leading to a temporary halt of the train. The occurrence took place in coach C13 of train number 20702, the Tirupati-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express, after it had passed Gudur in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati region.
Adding to a series of recent events, a few days ago, unidentified individuals threw stones at the Vande Bharat Express train that was operating between Gorakhpur and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki region.
