The merger of Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank with Bank of Baroda took place in 2019 as part of a larger consolidation of public sector banks in India. This merger was formalized under the “Scheme of Amalgamation,” which took effect from April 1, 2019. After the merger, all branches of Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank became branches of Bank of Baroda, and the customers of the former two banks were transitioned to Bank of Baroda’s system.
