Recently, a lot of cases of harassment of women employees have come to light. Women are being harassed by their senior and even denied leaves. As per 12th BPS, Women can take 1 day leave without submitting medical certificate. But still, some Branch Heads are forcing women employees to submit medical certificate.
Not only this, it has also been reported that women employees are being monitored by branch Heads via CCTV cameras installed in branches. This is really not acceptable and violated the basic principles of privacy.
Moreover, it has been reported that some branches don’t have separate washrooms for women employees in Banks. AIBEA has raised these issues with IBA and has requested authorities to resolve these issues at the earliest.
If any women Bank employee feels harassment at work, then she can file complaint with higher authorities and contact AIBEA helpline. Everyone has the right to work with dignity and Harassment should be stopped.
Very Good initiative by our Union to protect the harrasment of women employees.
Excellent move by AIBEA
good initiative
but why doesn’t raise point in this team in context of physical assault by customer to Bank employees, even physical assault by customers with ladies workmen?
5. why doesn’t draw attention towards posting of Armed guards in branches for safety of employees?
6. why ATM replenishment is done without Armed guard and why on Sunday and holidays
of festivals without written instructions by Regional Office?
7. why instructions of Govt. of ‘work life balance’ is being overlooked by the Management and why branches are opened after 6.00 pm?
8. why do officers are called on Sunday and other holidays without any written instructions?
it is crystal clear that Bank Management is overlooked the safety of Banks and it’s workmen?
9. why do number of cases of commiting suicides by Bank employees? the reason behind it reportedly high pressure of work load?
Super sir AIBEA excellent
Male employees ke bare me kaun sochega???
Think of male employees also…they are also facing problems
What about women officers??
As a proud member of AIBEA, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the initiative of launching a women’s helpline. It is a commendable step toward ensuring the safety and well-being of women employees across the banking sector.
However, it is important to highlight an ongoing issue that deserves attention: several branches of banks (examples are many, like Jammu branches of Punjab and Sind Bank) continue to lack basic amenities, such as washroom facilities for their staff, especially for women. In many cases, employees are forced to use public washrooms, which is an unacceptable and unhygienic situation. This reflects poorly on the work environment and the commitment to employee welfare.
I strongly urge the organization to take necessary action to address this concern and ensure that all branches are equipped with proper and safe facilities for their staff. It is a vital step in creating a more inclusive and supportive workplace for everyone.
Please do put atleast 2 women employees per branch, single woman in branch may face this type of harassment
