Government employees from both Central and state departments will come together at Ramlila Maidan on August 10. They want the Old Pension Scheme back. A group of railway union leaders announced this event called ‘Pension Rights Maharally’. It is being organized by the Joint Forum for Restoration of Old Pension Scheme (JFROPS)/National Joint Council of Action (NJCA).

Shiv Gopal Mishra, who leads NJCA and is the general secretary of All India Railway Men’s Federation, talked to the media. He said many employees who started working for the government after January 1, 2004, really don’t like the New Pension Scheme (NPS). These employees worry about their future after retirement. They think they lost the better Old Pension Scheme and were put into the New Pension Scheme without a choice.

Because of this, many employees are in trouble for their future and old age. This is why they made the Joint Forum for Restoration of Old Pension Scheme (JFROPS)/NJCA, said Mishra.

The ‘Pension Rights Maharally‘ will be on August 10 at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. It starts at 9:30 am, said Mishra.

Different kinds of employees will join the rally. People from Central, state, railway, and PSU jobs will be there. Also, teachers, defense workers, and ex-paramilitary people from across the country will join. Mishra said they already did many protests and rallies in different places. They also gave letters to officials, governors, cabinet secretaries, and even the prime minister. They told them about their worries. Mishra said workers are unhappy because they feel the government is against them.

Mishra said if leaders can enjoy the benefits of the Old Pension Scheme, then the workers who spend their whole careers serving the public should also get the same support when they retire. He said it’s the right of these workers to have the Old Pension Scheme back. “The government should bring back the Old Pension Scheme immediately,” he said.

Mishra warned that if the government doesn’t listen to them, they might announce a big protest across the country called ‘Bharat Bandh’. This would stop the whole nation. Mishra said if that happens, it’s the government’s fault for not listening.

JFROPS stands for “Joint Forum for Restoration of Old Pension Scheme.” It is a collective organization or forum that consists of various employee unions and associations in India. The primary objective of JFROPS is to advocate for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme for government employees. This scheme was prevalent before the introduction of the New Pension Scheme (NPS) in January 2004.

NJCA stands for “National Joint Council of Action.” It is a platform or council that represents various central government employee unions and associations in India. The primary purpose of NJCA is to negotiate and advocate for the interests and rights of central government employees regarding their pay, allowances, working conditions, and other related matters.
